Illustrated History of the Mundane: Kartonopolis Egypt, December 2023 3-D animation with sound 2:17 minutes In Kartonopolis, Batman, who lives in a cardboard system/regime, metamorphoses into the ancient Egyptian deity Anubis, steals his way into a home of sleeping individuals, and plays the role of Santa Claus, placing toys on a table in every bedroom. All the toys are military elements: a tank, an armored vehicle, a chopper, and an ambulance, all toys for everyone at home to play with when they wake up. The two-minute animation is a critical reflection on the militarization of the entire globe, and the accompanying economic warfare, in the struggle for wealth and power. The work also delves into the failed promises of what is known as the "Arab Spring".
