IHOM: Spring Affair

In Spring Affair, forms simulating ancient alphabets metamorphose into military iconography in move in a linear military parade, and as they move, they shape-shift, form-shift and hybridize into new invasive forms; Maat, the feather, symbol of justice, plays soccer, and dies in a backward double-kick move. The two-minute animation is a critical reflection on the militarization of the entire globe, and the accompanying economic warfare, in the struggle for wealth and power. The work also delves into the failed promises of what is known as the "Arab Spring".
