In my work, I draw on the experiences of myself or those close to me. For example, in a series that I tentatively call the "oncotryptic," I process experiences related to cancer. In 2015, I had breast cancer. This experience resulted in a project titled "Idzie RAK… będzie ZNAK" (Itsy- Bitsy CANCER ... leaves you with a SCAR). In September 2020, an international competition was announced for a tattoo on the skin of my reconstructed left breast. Over fifty designs were submitted, and in January 2021, the Competition Committee selected seven distinguished works along with the tattoo design that was realized on my body in the spring of 2021. An artistic way to process the trauma associated with the deformation of my body due to surgical intervention was a series of video performances. Their record is captured in a 4’06” video titled "Makeover." In this piece, I try on six of the distinguished but unrealized tattoo designs. The documentation of the action involving the execution of the awarded tattoo is captured in a 4’20” video titled "INK."
