About

This work is a single-channel moving image combining self-shot footage, found archival material, and AI-generated images. I approach memory not as the representation of the past, but as a temporal structure that organises the present and limits the future. Although the work begins with a personal loss, it does not remain within confession. Instead, it layers late-1990s and early-2000s visual culture, travel landscapes, degraded media images, and the afterglow of promises that never arrived, tracing how the time once called “the future” became our present. What matters here is not the explanation of an event, but the sensation of a time that never fully came into one’s possession. Rather than restoring the past, the work uses memory to mark the possibility of another world that only becomes visible after loss.
