About

“ETROM UO AICNÊDNEPEDNI”, Guilherme Peters e Sansa Rope, 2022 The video and photography set that makes up ETROM UO AICNÊDNEPEDNI was made from an intervention in the Monument to the Independence of Brazil (Altar of the Fatherland), from 1926. The monument is located in the Independence Park, in São Paulo, the place where Dom Pedro I proclaimed the emancipation of Brazil from Portugal in 1822. The monument was built by the Italians Ettore Ximenes and Manfredo Manfreti during the first centenary of independence. The tie structure creates a structure that connects external elements that resignify the monument, creating a symbolic circuit. The monument was made representing a movement of the soldiers and their horses towards the central figure of Dom Pedro I. The tie creates a design that inverts this movement, with the ropes tensioned towards the figure of Dom Pedro I, the soldiers and horses seem to be making the opposite movement to the central figure, inverting the force vector. Cameera: Nicolai Panzanella Models: Pedro Cozzi & Leonardo
