My intention is to embark on an expedition about time with this video titled "Time Zones”, trying to connect the past to the infinite future. The concept begins with maps, longitudes, and digits. Longitudes on maps define the time zones across our earthly surface. Digits serve as symbols to mark time, such as minutes, hours, and years. They too represent "time zones" in the temporal dimension. I worked on a triptych titled “Atlas the Other Shore” and transformed it into a video. In the painting, I transformed six century-old local maps into abstractions. Then I moved to the next step. Commencing with the oldest available local map, I focused on the enigmatic lines and digits inscribed upon it. Through the interplay of shifting geographic shapes, evolving lines, and emerging digits, my aim is to evoke contemplation on the elusiveness of time and history. Whether setting off from the docky in the past, browsing the internet in daily life at present, or triggering associations through artistic creation, the aim of adventurers is to explore the unknown.
