“Asas” is a 3D dance piece created by mixing the language of dance with 3D animation and simulation techniques. The work was inspired by the song of the same name by Luedji Luna, based on the verse “Why do I want you, wings? If I have wind inside”. But these wings are not only inspired by Luna. Helio Oiticica and his Parangolés are also featured: pieces of cloth worn on the body and used to dance, to give movement to the air, to shake the structures of exaggerated intellectualization, to spread free expression through rhythm and color. There is also inspiration in the aesthetics that have been created by artistic creations mediated by AI. The challenge was to try to mimic the visual aspect of the works generated by AI without using this technology, but working with colors, noises and textures to simulate this aesthetic.
