About
An eclipse heralds the end of another world, among multiple extinctions. In that chiaroscuro, Mesoamerican mythical figures related to death and dismemberment appear, all of them connected by blood. A beheaded young man trains a military routine that alternates with juggling a dance of mutilated humanity. A group of Itzpapálotl - obsidian butterflies with flint-tipped wings from the nocturnal and subterranean world - emerges from their chrysalises to find themselves in a threatened landscape. Collectively the butterflies conjure up a bloodthirsty turkey sorceress. A flowering tree, the support of the world, breaks and bleeds. When the moon devours the Sun it is feared that night will prevail forever and the Tzitzimimes will descend to Earth.
