Work In Progress

Video art commissioned by Dresden Film Festival 2026 on the theme of "Work in Progress." I use the act of cooking as a metaphor for filmmaking. As filmmakers, we wrestle with our work — battling others, battling ourselves, splitting our spirit into fragments just to make something whole. And when it is finally done, there is a satisfaction beyond words, the kind that makes art irreducibly, stubbornly its own thing. Yet at the same moment, the work slips away from us — because another work in progress has already begun. So we hand it to the audience, and let go.
