About
The video (Entry I) is part of an on-going series combining digital abstract imagery with poetry written by the artist over the years. It is a playful exploration through a variety of digital media, such as generative image techniques and GAN algorithms, aiming to create hybrid landscapes, where dream, memory and speculation meet. These ambiguous spaces echoing laboratory environments and controlled observation are disrupted by fragments of a diaristic practice. Writing is employed less as a narrative device and more as an act of intervention, aiming to subvert the codes of technological imaginaries centered on efficiency and productivity. In a time marked by the normalization and mechanization of human experience, the work seeks to foreground language and embodied perception as tools of resistance and modes of meaningful reconnection. It also reflects on how processes of emergence and the formation of complexity are inextricably linked to randomness and entropy across physical, biological, and sociotechnical systems. All soundscapes are created by the artist. Entry I (isolated text): Skin stretches through the sky begging For a computational solution A proper re-evaluation of the issue Millions of cells get born and die Millions of molecules continue their silent dance Eyes look mechanically out of field To the point where a memory is being recalled Synthetic or not All this super-structure All this wasted energy Worth it! Say it’s worth it! There’s no vomiting and no lavage to cleanse a body infected by sorrow There ‘s only hope for a sudden unexplained withdrawal Exactly like its occurrence Saliva drops warm like a tear Symbols act soothingly Unpredictable synapses Maybe something new will soon emerge
