Working with various AI engines and models, the artist has remade Charles Baudelaire’s Les Fleurs du mal as a triphop meditation on our present technological condition. In its overcoming the modernist melancholia of the source material, the video embraces flowers as potent artefacts: potentially rapacious and threatening yet also carrying untrammelled vital energy. Through this, the video seeks a new key in which to play out the latent and not so latent tensions of the AI age.
