Lydia Kavina is a prominent figure in the world of theremin art. She has been at the forefront of the theremin renaissance since the 1990s, composing and performing many of the modern pieces created for this unique instrument, while also serving as an inspiration and mentor to thousands of enthusiasts.

Lydia has collaborated with a wide range of multimedia artists, including Sergey Kishchenko, Kioschi Furukawa, Sergey Zorin (known for his work with Optical Theatre in Russia), Iraida Yusupova, and many others.

As a theremin performer, Kavina has graced the stages of renowned orchestras such as the London Symphony, Radio France Orchestra, and the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, among others. Her talents have also been featured in various theater productions, including the ballet "The Little Mermaid" by Lera Auerbach and John Neumeier, as well as the musicals "Alice" and "Black Rider" by Tom Waits and Robert Wilson.

Mrs. Kavina has recorded several albums featuring original theremin music, released by labels including MODE Records, WERGO, Artservice, Solnze Records, DistroKid, and Teleura. Additionally, she has contributed her theremin skills to several film soundtracks, including "The Electrical Life of Louis Wain" with music composed by Arthur Sharpe, "Ed Wood" and "eXistenZ" with scores by Howard Shore, and "The Machinist" by Roque Banos.

Lydia is currently based in the UK, and her musical journey has roots in her studies of music theory and composition at the Moscow Conservatory. She also had the privilege of learning the theremin directly from its inventor, Léon Theremin, to whom she is related.
