Remain In The Dark

Remain in the Dark is the introduction to a longer-term project focusing on the colonization of night,
the political significance of artificial lighting, and dystopian plans to eliminate darkness. The first episode, in the form of
seven stories partly inspired by real events or characters, presents different historical ways of viewing nighttime before the beginning of industrialization of society. It shows night as a source of many superstitions, fears, and irrationality, but at the same time as a space of escape from daytime surveillance and prejudice, and ultimately as a territory dominated by Enlightenment
logic. Despite the historical perspective of the theme, the video reflects on the still-relevant issues of power, control,
repression, and discrimination.
