Animated collage of abstracted stop motion short gifs and videos compiled. Composed from field recordings and a virtual piano website that enables me to transform letters on my keyboard into notes on a different keyboard, this sound incorporates elements of humor. I chose to deconstruct the phrase “wat is luv, bb don’t hurt me” as a playful approach to engage the audience as well as myself & my existential questions on love. By indirectly encouraging them, but mostly as a little hidden message or Easter egg, to hypothetically sing along in response with the phrase “no more!” inspired by the song “What Is Love” by Trinidadian-German Eurodance singer Haddaway from his debut album, “The Album” (1993), I aim to evoke a sense of embodied reflection. This sound also prompts contemplation on the concept of “(k)no(wing) more” and the structural limitations we impose on knowledge acquisition through media and other means. What does it mean to sit, listen & observe for 10 minutes to a non-narrative film? Life and Love do not have a script to follow & so I wonder how can we find comfort within that temporal space.
