La rana is an electroacoustic composition inspired by Matsuo Bashō’s iconic haiku “An old pond / a frog jumps in / the sound of water.” The piece explores stillness, rupture, and resonance through a minimalist interplay between processed guitar and electronic manipulation. Using extended techniques and subtle transformations, the guitar becomes both texture and gesture — evoking the moment of the frog’s leap as a sonic event that disturbs and redefines the surrounding space. La rana is a meditation on presence, time, and the poetics of listening, where silence and sound mirror the contemplative spirit of the original verse.
