About

Two discoed visitors travel to Grande Staircase-Escalente, a protected land monument in southern Utah, USA, just before it was set to be considerably downsized by the Trump administration. They have come to have one last dance, before the metaphorical lights go on and the magic of this wild space is gone. As they explore land formations through their bodies, their movements refract onto the landscape and the landscape is reflected onto their bodies. Their costumes become prosthetic connection devices between human and place. Audio track was created from sounds collected on-site. This piece was made in response to Trump's Monument Review which threatened the protected land status of 27 national land monuments.
