SUMMER HEAT AN EARLY FROST originated in a research at the Sexual Representation Collection in Toronto and connects the collection’s archive of partly censored erotic and pornographic magazines to theories of film montage, digital infrastructures and interface design. These are examined for their potential of regulating desire through algorithmic mediation in order to softly persuade viewers into continuing to search for an “imagined perfect image“.
