The sun-burned wooden huts and stables, which nestle picturesquely against the mountain slopes of the Montafon, are today a place of recreation and longing for many. In the past they were associated with hard work for the farmers: They followed the fodder with their animals to protect the pastures in the valley. Today, this story is overshadowed by romantic images of corn sowing. How were these pictures created? To what extent does the idyll coincide with the experience? The artist Claudia Larcher moved into a Montafon mountain shelter and asked herself these questions in her works.
