"What You Sow" in the Rheingärtchen

"What You Sow" interactive AR installation by Tamiko Thiel and /p, puts the viewer underwater on the sea floor. Virtual plastic waste falls from above; viewers click on each plastic garbage "seed" to grow them into beautiful plastic waste corals. Over time, the viewer finds themself completely surrounded and entrapped by the corals they sow.

"What You Sow" was commissioned by and premiered at the 2023 AR Biennale of the NRW-Forum Düsseldorf. This machinima shows the installation in the Rheingärtchen Park in Düsseldorf.
