Rain - Fire

Field recordings captured in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between March and July 2020 form the basis of this piece. The characteristic sonic qualities of rain and fire are brought into dialogue, blurring their opposing natures to create immersive, hypnotic textures. In the background, the rhythms of day and night unfold through the calls of birds, toads, crickets, and other insects native to the Brazilian Atlantic Forest.
