New York based Austrian artist Kurt Hentschläger creates media installations and performances. Hentschläger’s larger works have characteristically been visceral and immersive and are known for their perceptual, transportive effects. They challenge his audience psychologically, offering time outside of normal time and a moment of introspection. His work practice embraces experiment and moves in between fine arts, sound and theater. He co-founded the ground-breaking media art duo Granular=Synthesis (1992-2003).
