About
"Yellow Slicker" is the first in the series of 16 videos to "One Flushed Cheek," a collaborative project between Seth Weiner & Sadie Siegel and Maggessi/Morusiewicz. An integral part of a conceptual package consisting of a double music album and an exhibition installation, the project's videowork combines original footage, shot over the past years by Maggessi/Morusiewicz, with footage found in online-based film archives and shadow libraries, which displays the duo’s compulsive fascination with popular/underground films and video art from the 1960s–1990s, as well as auteur cinema. While "Yellow Slicker" does not cite any primary source via the use of found footage, it references a singular scene in David Lynch's "Inland Empire" through the cadre framing sustained throughout the video.
