"Go with Green" is the seventh in the series of 16 videos to "One Flushed Cheek," a collaborative project between Seth Weiner & Sadie Siegel and Maggessi/Morusiewicz. An integral part of a conceptual package consisting of a double music album and an exhibition installation, the project's videowork combines original footage, shot over the past years by Maggessi/Morusiewicz, with footage found in online-based film archives and shadow libraries, which displays the duo’s compulsive fascination with popular/underground films and video art from the 1960s–1990s, as well as auteur cinema. Using stop-motion as a formal glue, "Go with Green" samples, alters, and converges footage from radically diverse contexts: "A Portrait In Light And Heat" (dir. Bill Viola, 1979), "A Bomb Was Stolen" (dir. Ion Popescu-Gopo, 1962), "Red Desert" (dir. Michelangelo Antonioni, 1964), "Don Gabriel" (dir. Ewa Petelska, Czesław Petelski, 1966), and "Tarantula" (dir. Jack Arnold, 1955). "Intestinal Fortitude" (dir. Colin Barton, 1991), "Jáaji Approx" (dir. Sky Hopinka, 2016), and "Skate the Sky" (dir. Jennifer West, 2009), while thinking of "Self-Portrait" (dir. Shigeko Kubota, 1970-1971) as the covert yet key conceptual reference, which informed this video's use of multiple overlays and the specific color palette that it generates.
