About

The Team was filmed in Baghdad inside the Gymnasium designed by Le Corbusier in the late 1950s and completed decades later under Saddam Hussein. The film follows a football team of Iraqi amputee players as they train within this modernist architecture, turning the building into a space of endurance, discipline, and collective presence. Between the utopian legacy of Le Corbusier’s project and the wounded bodies of contemporary Iraq, The Team observes how architecture can become a stage for survival. The film does not treat disability as a spectacle, but as a form of strength, precision, and shared resistance. Within this immense concrete structure, the players inhabit history with extraordinary dignity, transforming a monument of modernity into a field of living memory.
