About
Multi channel expanded cinema two site installation and performance at MIT Artfinity Arts Festival 2025. Panoctagon installation comprises 8 walls forming an octagon with video projections on both sides (16 screens) , and a 4 screen "video soapbox". The 16 screens show documentation of protests in NYC from 2003-2020, with the inside 8 screens depicting Occupy Wall Street protests. Each has its own soundtrack playing, from 16 speakers, chants and sounds from the protests, forming a cacophony in the space, along with the 4 spoken word soundtracks coming from the 4 screens in the video soapbox. All 20 channels of audio are in competition with each other and can only be understood by being in just the right place to hear one feed dominate the others. The Festival Henge installation comprises 8 hand made LED screens (double sided, so 16 screens) forming a circle with 16 speakers (hexadecaphonic sound). Community artists were invited to install video and audio works on the Festvial Henge. A performance starts in the Panoctagon and moves/parades to the Festival Henge where a community celebration takes place. 5 minute edit. See also "Festival Henge" in Media Lab
