About
krakfish-sksm is a continuation of the Blythian Memes project. This experimental film centres on the Vol au Vent, a vessel involved in offshore wind turbine construction, which was docked in the Port of Blyth for several months in early 2024. A vast structure that dominated the skyline, illuminated at night, accompanied by a constant mechanical hum, became a temporary yet monumental presence within the town’s landscape. The entire film is constructed from a single photograph taken of the Vol au Vent. Firstly, creating a series of deconstructed stop frame animated sequences, then overlaying and remixing through various software, this static image is expanded into several moving sequences. Finally, once the film is created, a piece of music is composed to accompany it. The film is then examined frame by frame to identify interesting compositions. These selected frames are extracted and digitally cleaned to, become standalone digital art. Then the process begins again from those chosen images. music-sksm https://sksm.bandcamp.com/track/krackfish
