Travel in China ( is french copy better than chinese original ? ) is a video created in 2016 following an interrupted trip to Kazakhstan, which was to continue in the colorful mountains of Zhangye Danxia in China. The planned work was intended to express the disappointment of not being able to recapture the impres- sions felt while preparing for the trip, at the same time as a critique of a world over-saturated and violently filtered by Instagram-derived imagery.

During a facial operation in France, the artist felt the need to create this work from a different prism, traveling around his room and in his imagination rather than geographically. So he took photographs found on the net and heavily modified to push to the point of absurdity the modifications made by photographers to their images, in order to make them "sexier". In this way, the range of mountains visited by the artist's imagination are at once a grating critique of contemporary social media civilization, heir to the exaggerated travel narratives of history, as much as to the imagery of video games, science or psychedelic mental journeys.
