Post-Pause (2004)

Jiang Zhi's "Post-Pause" (2004) shows a poetic and dreamlike narrative unfolding in an urban environment. The scene plays in the early morning, in the new metropolis of Shenzhen, seemingly still asleep and without human activity except for the movements of the video's protagonists. Jiang, who works in a large variety of media, including poetry and fiction, consciously positions himself at the intersection of poetics and sociology, including everyday experiences into his works.
