Pai (Father)

The artist's father appears on the scene wearing the garments he uses in his rituals as a pai de santo (babalorisha). Each costume and space in the house, laden with symbolism, is shown in sequence, while captions overlaid on the image reveal the names of the entities in question. The work combines the father's solemn presence with the visuality of African-based religious traditions, creating an intimate dialogue between the sacred, memory, and identity.
