Decían que: Arriba es Abajo como el Sol es a la Luna, is a playful programme where pieces of metallic paper are added to recreate the symbol of the Chakana. This set of pieces transmits, from its centre, an organic opening of upward growth. From 3 x 3 modules divided by their diagonals and organised in a regular grid, a Chakana or Andean Cross rises; a recurring emblem in the culture of the indigenous peoples of the Andes. This ancestral image harbours a spiritual connection with the cosmos, as it represents a unifying element that symbolises a ladder or bridge between two elements, generating a relationship of correspondence between the high and the low, the human and the superior, the sacred and the profane, the earth and the universe. In the background, we see the beautiful Milky Way, viewed from the driest desert in the world, the Atacama Desert in northern Chile.
