Room C - The Shifted Lines presents an interactive imagination composition inspired by Roel Heremans' experiences after suffering multiple brain hemorrhages. Eight participants embark on an immersive adventure, guided by headphones and their own minds. Upon entering, a rectangular arrangement of white crosses adorned with diverse colors awaits, symbolizing the intersection of perception and creativity. Informed by Heremans' experiences, a voice in the headphones prompts participants to close their eyes and delve into imaginative realms—ranging from abstract dimensions to deeply personal narratives. As they navigate these mental landscapes, the recurring motif of "the room" becomes a vessel for reconstructing time and redefining reality. The immersive experience unfolds with participants periodically opening their eyes, physically shifting to new crosses within the room. This fluid movement continually reshapes the constellation of minds, amplifying the ever-changing nature of human thought. Occasionally, participants are prompted to gaze upon the person before them, receiving cues that steer their mental projections. This intricate interplay transforms "Room C" into a captivating game of introspection, reflection, and projection. Incorporating Heremans' own journey, "Room C - The Shifted Lines" weaves a tapestry of imagination and shared presence. By bridging personal inspiration with interactive design, it invites participants to ponder the boundaries of time, the depths of the psyche, and the intricacies of human connection within the confines of a carefully curated space.
