About

'Diving In The Club' is a music video directed by David Taboas for Manel De Aguas' self-produced track 'Diving in the Club (feat. Dotes Vito)’ - included in the artist’s upcoming album debut ’Transcending Species’
“I started producing and writing the song Diving In The Club with the intention of expressing how my personal experience in nightclubs has changed after adding a new cybernetic organ to my head that allows me to hear the weather. Sweat and heat from moving bodies always makes the atmosphere in the club hot and humid, so my fins make the bubbling sound in my head and that makes me feel like I'm submerged in an underwater environment. That is why I began to see clubs as if they were underwater spaces and that idea is what I wanted to express with Diving In The Club, in order to bring people closer to my personal cyborg experience every time it is heard.” - explains the artist. The music video tells us the story of a guy who for some unknown reason ends up falling into an aquatic environment and this transports him to the bathtub of a sink whose whereabouts are unknown. In full confusion about what happened, the protagonist ends up discovering access to an underground queer party which seems to be only accessible through the aquatic environment. With this metaphor, the music video aims to illustrate Manel's perception of clubs, understanding them as underwater spaces due to the new perception that his cybernetic fins give him.
