Mouthwash

A woman walks into a laundrette, takes her knickers off and inserts them into a man’s mouth.  He is passively standing waiting for her donation and washes the knickers slowly, foaming at the mouth.  She is impatient, exacting and he is quiet and submissive. As with many of Jemima Burrill video’s she explores the power structure and gender expectation in a domestic setting. Humorous but simultaneously exploring a dark sense of possible exploitation, this work describes a casual inappropriate behaviour, which makes the viewer reassess men and woman’s roles.
