Las Awichas

In “Las Awichas,” Violeta merges these sacred elements with new technologies, animating robotic animals tied to Andean myths. Creatures like the hummingbird, jaguar, condor, and whale embody ancestral knowledge and honor her grandmothers’ spiritual connections with nature.

These beings are more than representations; they whisper, move, and engage with audiences, extending the artwork beyond the gallery into the real world and digital realms. Using real-time animation, AI-generated portraits, and immersive XR experiences, Violeta creates responsive, adaptive environments where myth and machine coexist.

Her work aims to make us think in a new way of relating to nature, moving beyond Western ideas of dominance toward reciprocity between humans and the natural world. “Las Awichas” ongoing work reflects on heritage, time, and transformation. Through this fusion, Violeta challenges us to transcend linear narratives and engage with a deeper, interconnected reality.
