nexus is an experimental design research project by Emilia Gentis, Felix Henke, and Chantal Pisarzowski that critically examines the intersection of Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) and artificial intelligence through an implicit job interview scenario. By simulating a selection process where neural activity is analyzed in real-time, nexus raises pressing questions about neuroethics, cognitive privacy, and the societal consequences of neural transparency. The project challenges the idea of thought as the last private domain, questioning how much can be inferred about an individual based on their brain activity—and whether such insights should ever be used for decision-making processes.
