soft error #1

This video is part of a character study for my recent movie "echoes of a wet finger:"(2024), commissioned by Sharjah Art Biennial 2025 and Mercosul Biennial 2025. Most of my characters often appear surrounded by many eyes and ears - a metaphor to surveillance in contemporary days, where we engage with many people online and are always being the observer of someone else's life or being observed by unknown people. Bringing these elements around the body is not only a way to play with maximizing senses (To listen and observe a lot of people you would need a lot of ears and eyes) but also it allows me to create a grotesque feminine image in an era that rewards beauty inside a specific standard that keeps us stuck on the idealization of feminine perfection. In soft_error (series) I was trying to understand how I could merge opposite aesthetics to fit it in my world creating tension between standard beauty x ugliness, softness x grotesque, digital x organic, real x fantastical.
