“unfold” is an audiovisual installation that transforms star formation into an 8-minute, looped tactile audiovisual composition, consisting of 3-channel HD projection and 6.1.1 surround sound. Observations of stars in various wavelengths within the galaxy, such as those from the Vela supernova, as well as simulation data like gravitational collapse, are translated into human-scale, audible, visible, and tangible phenomena. The installation offers an immersive, synesthetic experience through upward-extending projections and surround sound with a bass shaker floor. Scientific truths are temporally and spatially compressed into the installation format, allowing viewers to experience cosmic phenomena as a perceptible, three-dimensional audiovisual composition.
