Dramatis Personae

In the movie "Dramatis Personae" (from the series Face 2 Face) Claudia Larcher deals with a highly popular tool of digital communication. Emojis are used in text messages and chats to replace terms - there are over 700 of them.
In Claudia Larcher's video work, people are equipped with carved emoji masks and thus anonymized, but at the same time emotionally fixed. By setting the scene in exotic Sri Lanka, the global dimension of such forms of communication becomes obvious.
