About

“Don't Be Such An Image” by Malpractice takes the form of a symbolic training program, made for artworks trying to survive in future environments that edit, reformat, or censor them by design. Structured like a derailed tutorial, it delivers precarious instructions for threading through collaborative censorship, typographic self-preservation, and indirect circulation. This piece brings focus to the politics of legibility. With a human written libretto as its starting point, it passes through a cascade of AI systems—opera synthesis, diagrammatic AI visuals, vector bodies, and sonic interpretation—each layer misreading the last. Each segment teaches a different tactic: how to leak like a suggestion, how to be misunderstood on purpose, and how to seduce the classifier with symbolic hygiene. The voice addresses the artwork itself, guiding it through rituals of formatting, compression, and barometric flirtation. Suggestion is a survival tactic. Ambiguity becomes a medium.
