Alessia Lupo Cecchet is an interdisciplinary artist who works at the intersection of studio and media arts and constructs objects activated through film, video, and animation. Grounding her work in archives, histories, and everyday experiences, her research concerns submerged histories (fictional and nonfictional) of nonhuman animal displacement and suffering. She explores matters of decay, abjection, empathy, human exceptionalism, and temporality, through an engagement with the animal body as an access point for inquiry.
