New Extractivism: An assemblage of concepts and allegories

New Extractivism is a critical cartographic project that maps the expanding regimes of extraction in the digital age, where human attention, behavior, emotion, labor, social relations, bodies, minds, and planetary resources become territories for capture and exploitation. Built as an assemblage of concepts, allegories, maps, guides, and footnotes, the work visualizes contemporary platform capitalism as a machine-like superstructure: a gravitational system of black holes, caves, interfaces, data banks, surveillance rhizomes, ghost labor, supply chains, and algorithmic lenses. It traces how digital infrastructures transform users simultaneously into workers, resources, and products, while connecting this immaterial extraction to very material processes of mining, energy use, toxic waste, logistical labor, and environmental destruction. In this sense, New Extractivism is both a conceptual map and a political diagram of the planetary-scale factory behind contemporary technology.
