Daughter ICE Metaverse Home Tour

Running Water Floating Island is the Metaverse Home that Artist Snow Yunxue Fu build for the digital human Daughter ICE. 

Chinese American New Media Artist Snow Yunxue Fu presents her "Daughter ICE" which is a long-term digital human art project. Utilizing 3D imaging techniques such as modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, and other technological tools, she “gives birth” to a virtual daughter as a digital human. "Daughter ICE" takes on both the physical and character resemblances of the artist herself and her mother, who is also an artist and educator, and has profoundly influenced Fu as a person, artist, and educator. Due to the global pandemic, like many other international families, Fu has not seen her family members in China in person for a long time. The making of the project "Daughter ICE" explores her deeper connection with her family in a virtual realm. The project allows Fu to dive into the implications of our digital selves as we experience intimacy across generational, familial, cultural, and continental lines.
