About
One of Anhar’s earliest attempts to document her first experience walking alone in the street without male restrictions, filmed on her first iPhone 4، during a break at university. In the video, she explores urban spaces, placing herself within the environment—such as in the shot where she slowly turns with the phone, capturing a full 360-degree view from the street to a tree and back again. These actions, considered unconventional for a woman in public, including leaving her phone on a bridge to film, carry a strong emotional charge; yet she pursued them in order to share glimpses of her life online. This video is part of Anhar’s video diary series, in which she documents mundane adventures and her first unchaperoned experiences outside the home. Without the traditional permission or presence of a male guardian, and with the freedom to navigate music and film platforms on the internet, she began to develop a relationship with the camera and learn to edit.
