Deep Ocean Blue evokes the light sensitivity of ocean depths. I have a composer friend, Claudio Ferrari, who is able to evoke the greatest depths in sound and to populate them with creatures of the depths. Another friend, video maker Jutta Pryor, interrogated me and influenced the interpretation of the representation of the sea under the Antarctic ice shelf - with ice only two meters thick above a deep water basin of 4500 meters. This work is inspired by all the wildlife present in the oceans, such as blue whales, dolphins and sharks, but also the microorganisms that live in the most inhospitable places. These smaller creatures are not much larger than the micro-organisms that live beside us and are said to be as numerous as the cells of our body, whilst we are mainly made up of water, we carry the depths within us.
