The Stuff I’m Made Of

The Stuff I’m Made Of is a computer generated video made up of over thirty 3D rendered images, each showing a different expression of the same face. Presented as a fast moving sequence, the images resemble a dataset, where each frame appears as a separate attempt to define the same subject. The work brings together a series of conflicting versions that cannot be resolved into a single identity. Each expression carries the same sense of validity, even when the differences become subtle or extreme, creating uncertainty around what is actually being observed. By borrowing the structure of a visual dataset, the work acts as a form of pseudo evidence. It suggests authority through repetition and consistency, while never arriving at a stable or unified subject. In doing so, it raises questions about how identity and emotion are interpreted, broken down, and accepted as truth through concepts of observation and analysis.
