The Origin of Everything
The Origin of Everything is a docu-fiction by Ela Gorji, An Iranian artist which presents a series of shots of a woman in a bathroom. The visuals create a sense of intimacy, whilst the digital effect in this piece gives the audience a feeling of isolation and dystopia. Through a Farsi VoiceOver, the character delivers a monologue about her daily life. It talks about the character's disgust for the world and her inflated significance in it as a result. Do people exist only because she knows them? If she were to disappear, would those in her memories disappear with her?
