As they slowly disappear, we are left at the interface between the digital and physical realm.“ „stars of the valley“ is a post-human existential drama stage-play, that tells a story of autonomous artificial intellegences that were being left behind by humanity in the digital realm of the internet. They range from archival biproducts from extinct life-forms to a human AI, that was constructed by a somewhat failed mind-upload of a dying person. They don‘t know, what has happened in the „real world“, as the internet has stopped being used. Maybe humanity has also gone extinct, pehaps technology has moved on and the platform has gone obsolete since then. As they are waiting for the final servers to shut down as well, they contemplate about self-fullfilment, , the impact and importance of memory and get to know about different life-realities from several species. The 3D elements used in this animation are found footage uploaded to freely accessible online-platforms. Models from research archives, replicas of personal items, and 3D scans of entire neighborhoods. Uploaded to the internet, only for me to find them again and reflect on their stories.
