Shadows of Paradise: Audio by David Elliott

An audio version of curator David Elliott's introduction to In the Shadows of Paradise, read by Elliott and recorded specially for CIFRA. The exhibition brings together 15 works created over the past three decades by 12 artists and collectives from Africa, China, Europe, Japan, Russia, and Singapore. It begins with a simple irony. Paradise often comes with conditions — belief, compliance, submission. And behind its bright promise, shadows emerge. Elliott offers another way of looking at paradise: as a space of possibility.
