Richard Ander-Donath - INTO THE VOID - 2025 - experimental audiovisual Performance

INTO THE VOID is a performance art piece that combines live performance and animated film. It is based on the concept of "own time," introduced by Austrian sociologist Helga Nowotny. This concept describes how personal life realities shape individual perceptions of time, causing them to expand or contract. This piece emerged during my master's studies and is part of my artistic research into my lived experience as a composer. Places and situations that influenced my perception of time are represented throughout the piece. Digitally interpreted and transformed animated environments include the Hochschule der Künste Bern and the Jewish Museum Berlin, as well as a first-person perspective of a nocturnal bicycle ride. In contrast, moments set in a forest are presented audiovisually using field recordings and sound as primary elements.
