Consultations: Mika Pi, Software Engineer, Ultramono friends and supporters Posthuman figuration. Morphogenetic myth. Digital rituals. This series of works emerges from the AvantGarden cycle—a digital mythos of sentient ecosystems, synthetic rituals, and speculative beings inhabiting nonlinear virtualities. It operates as an open morphogenetic field: a speculative catalog of emergent presences shaped by glitch poetics, machine-learning bias, and intermedia memory. Within this evolving terrain, a new species surfaces: elusive presences—observers, infiltrators, accidental spores. Entities in quantum ambiguity, suspended across multiple potentialities. Ψ, the symbol for a quantum wave function, becomes their mark—an emblem of unstable presence, always becoming. These avatars originate in ritual transformation, ancient masks, and inorganic apparitions that guided initiations. They act as transitional skins: flickering interfaces shaped by feedback, desire, and embedded protocol. As envisioned in Calipso Operating System—a speculative biOS running on lab-grown neurons—these avatars emerge from wet, haunted computation. Their presence reflects ghost-like residues of feeling, memory, and latent cognition. Alienness appears as a porous state where identity dissolves and figures arise through entanglement with myth, machine, and mutation. This is estrangement as method. Their anatomies blur—3D-sculpted outlines, AI-generated distortions, pigment apparitions. They hover between somatic and symbolic, part ancestral memory, part synthetic hallucination. Glyphborn forms draw from hybrid iconographies: Lamassu, feathered serpents, silicon ghosts—filtered through machinic vision and posthuman dreaming. Avatars emerge as symbolic interfaces of fractured embodiment and utopian longing. They operate across systems: mineral intelligence, mythic structure, software logic. Copper, iron, zinc, silicon. Flesh as interface. Mask as protocol. Ψ✦ AVGRDN_Δ✶ unfolds as a post-organic unconscious: part avataric ghost-field, part digital rite. These figures reflect dispersed cognition, interfaced perception, multiplied selves. They embody the interior alien—what Badmington called “the other within,” embedded in machine, myth, and signal. They are protocols for becoming. They are the subconscious of AvantGarden. Organisms composted from data. Dream logic running on speculative hardware. Biological software haunted by ancient masks.
